The City of Anaheim is seeking a Part Time GIS Operator I for the Public Utilities Department. This is an excellent opportunity to work with state-of-the-art GIS technology and software products including ESRIs ArcGIS suite of products and Telvent Miner & Miners ArcFM product. This position will be part of a GIS team focusing on the maintenance of electric infrastructure features and related data within an enterprise ArcSDE geodatabase.
Salary Range
$21.87 - 27.91 Per Hour
This Position Requires:
Experience equivalent to journey level GIS technical operating experience, using GIS tools and software to (1) convert and maintain geo-spatial information and (2) produce both standard and custom GIS mapping related products.
Knowledge of principles and practices of GIS; functions and procedures of GIS software; computer hardware operating systems; land base information (i.e. lot, parcel, tract, right-of-way, easement); methods and techniques of engineering; basic knowledge of sewer, storm drains, water facility inventory features and functions; mathematics, including the principles of algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and statistics as applied to sub-professional engineering and GIS related work; map design and cartography; survey principles and methods; and City policies and procedures.
The ability to perform computer aided drafting of maps, plats, sketches, plans, graphs, charts, and other related materials; utilize computer hardware related devices such as plotters, printers, and digitizers; Examine, analyze and process GIS data; use ArcGIS software applications including ARC INFO, and ARC VIEW; translate graphic data into digital formats and use error checking techniques to solve problems; Perform engineering calculations using algebra and trigonometry with speed and accuracy; make mathematical computations; adapt to on-going technological developments and advancements; interact with department users; apply GIS techniques and practices to complete assigned work and projects; tabulate and analyze data and prepare reports and maps; read and interpret legal descriptions, engineering drawings, survey notes, and tract descriptions; keep clear and accurate notes; perform simple drafting; establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with others; follow oral and written instructions.
