I attended this conference last year in Nashville, TN and found it to be an excellent conference.  We are working closely with our Police Department as they implement a new CAD (Computer Aided Dispatch) that has a GIS component.  We are also working with our Fire Department to build a point dataset of every AT&T and Verizon phone record in our city.  This conference was very helpful in beginning to create our phone record dataset. 

Post here is anyone else from SoCal GIS attends.  New Orleans is a great place to visit and eat some great food.  I attended an AAG Conference several years ago and was able to participate in Fat Tuesday (the last day of Mardi Gras).  It will be interesting to see the city post Katrina.
