    POLICE DEPARTMENT

             

    The City of Anaheim, CA Police Department is seeking a Geographic Information System (GIS) Analyst I/II who will perform computer application and/or database design, development, and implementation services for Police Department users utilizing GIS technology:  The successful candidate will:

    • Develop complex GIS applications. Write, edit, install, and verify that programs are debugged and provide desired results.
    • Design and develop complex GIS database models and templates.
    • Write and edit programs for accessing, maintaining, linking and populating databases and verify database integrity. 
    •  Interpret complex information from recorded maps, land grants, deeds, and other sources. 
    •  Integrate GIS with other systems and databases.

    This Position Requires:


    GIS Analyst I


    $57,748 - $79,404 per year

    Advanced journey level GIS technical operating experience including analysis, design, development and programming of GIS applications and databases.

    GIS Analyst II 
     

    $63,667 - $87,542 per year

    One year experience as a GIS Analyst I. Experience working on Computer Aided Dispatch and Records Management System and/or in a public safety environment is highly desirable Knowledge of GIS software, programming logic, computer operating systems and networks and understanding of land base information and complex map design. The ability to write complex custom applications using languages such as Visual Basic, VB.Net, or C++; understand Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) (Oracle, SQL Server) protocol and utilize RDBMS tools to create, install, maintain, debug, and resolve software and application problems. The ability to listen to and interpret non-technical user requests or problems; manage problems and train personnel, make mathematical computations; analyze data to prepare reports and maps; develop site specific GIS applications; communicate effectively both orally and in writing; establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with others.
